Emma Louise is drawn in Conté crayons on Canson Mi-Teintes paper
This was a posthumous portrait that I was asked to do. Baby Emma Louise had died many years before, and her grandmother felt that the pain of her loss was softened enough to commemorate her with a portrait. The photograph I worked from had been taken at the time that her illness just started.
I always feel the responsibilty of a posthumous portrait is a great honour.
